by newsstack1 month ago

Foldable Smartphone

Before 2007, the cellphone market was brimming with exotic layouts, like the Motorola Razr and the Sony Ericsson Walkman flip design. Nokia too manufactured designs like the 3600 circular button phone, N-Gage “taco” phone, and the N93 that could look like a mini camcorder.

The foldable smartphone can be filled in for both a phone and a tablet. Samsung recently announced the first foldable smartphone, breaking the taboo of phones and tabs that wouldn’t into the palm. It revealed a 7.3-inch screen, its which when folded inwards doubles up as a smartphone. Huawei and other OEMs also plan to announce their foldable smartphones.

PROS

  1. The rear camera can be swapped as the front camera, increasing picture quality.
  2. No more shattered screens.
  3. More powerful hardware can be integrated into the smartphone

After a series of Osmo gadgets, DJI has manufactured the Osmo Pocket. It’s the manufacturer’s smallest stabilized cam so far, measuring slightly over four inches tall.

It features a small color touchscreen, to enable viewing and managing your video capture directly from the Osmo Pocket, or you can connect your smartphone through USB-C or Lightning to use your phone as a viewfinder. It is capable of capturing 12-megapixel stills and 4K videos at up to 60 fps.

While the Osmo Pocket measures just four inches it carries a weight of around 116g. It is pocket-friendly due to its foldable mechanism, slides into your pocket with much ease.

Unlike the Osmo, the Pocket features a camera and gimbal tech similar to the ones mounted on DJI’s smaller drones. The camera uses a 1/2.3-inch sensor. The Osmo Pocket is expected to last for up to two hours shooting in 4K  but at a lower frame rate of 30 fps. It also has dual microphones for audio recording.
