Orchids are so much harder and harder than most of the people suppose, and are, by and huge, very flexible. There’s a long-standing story that orchids are tough, if not possible, to grow, particularly while not a greenhouse. With a minimum of 20,000 species and a few 100,000 artificial hybrids, there are some notoriously fussy orchids. However there are several rugged, popular, easy-to-grow varieties that adapt to the temperatures and lightweight conditions found on the common home sill.
