Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark, a small Scandinavian country located north of Germany. The city is a rather small capital compared to London or New York, but what it lacks in size, it makes up in charm.

Copenhagen is a characterful city with a long history and many well-known landmarks to see and visit. But where should you go, and what should you see, if you only have a couple of days to spend in Copenhagen?

The little Mermaid

The little Mermaid is a small statue in the harbour of the Danish capital, where it has been located since 1913. It’s one of the most iconic sights in Copenhagen, which makes sense, as the author of the fairy-tale “the little mermaid” was Danish and lived in Copenhagen most of his life.

The best times to visit is in the mornings and the evenings, as many tourists come to see her.

Amalienborg Palace

Denmark is known as the world’s oldest monarchy and therefore you have to see the Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen, where the royal family still lives today.

You can visit blog4four Magazine for more information. The square in front of the palace is also known for the Royal Guard, who marches through the streets every day at 12 pm.

The botanical garden

If you are interested in plants and flowers, you must visit the unique botanical garden in Copenhagen with more than 13000 different species. The botanical garden is also famous for the characteristic glasshouses from 1874.

There’s plenty to see when you’re in Copenhagen. If you want to know more about how to get most of your travels, click and go to Holiday News Magazine.
