There are three reasons why network connection problems arises in Canon printers-

• Not able to set up a Network

• Unable to set up the machine

• Printer doesn’t connect to the intended destination folder via dial-up connection. The first problem is related to setting up a network. This usually arises because you have set your machine to OFF in the settings. To resolve this problem, you have to set the network connection settings to ON. This should resolve the issue. The second issue is related to the machine. If you are unable to set the machine properly, then perform the following troubleshooting-

If you cannot communicate using the Remote UI on your computer, you have to look for the information related to the machine or configure the Firewall settings. It would permit you to communicate via the IP address of your computer. If the Dedicated port settings or communication settings is off, turn them on according to the ‘Communication Environment Setup’. Ensure that the SNMP community name is same as the one stored on the machine. If the two of them are different, the utility would not detect the machine. Another cause could be the junk or cache files on your system. Check for them and remove them completely from your machine storage. If that doesn’t solve the issue, switch the sleep mode settings to ‘High’ mode or cancel it altogether. The third problem is related to the machine connecting to a default folder instead of the one you want. Follow the procedure given below to resolve this error. When a dial-up router is connected to the network and the machine is also connected to it, it automatically sets the default destination folder as against the chosen ones. It may result in subscriber or call charges. Hence, you need to solve it asap. If nothing works, call our Canon Service Center to resolve the problem.
